* *

The best way to get to our villa is to fly to Faro and hire a car there.

Car hire in Portugal in not different from car rental in other european countries. There are many hire car firms serving Faro airport.

We mention some car hire companies but you can do your own research and probably get better deals on the Internet. It is worthwhile checking whether there are any hidden extras, what insurance covers and what your final bill will be.

Things to look out for are: Collision Damage waiver(CDW), Vehicle Theft Waiver, Liability Insurance, VAT, Road Fund Tax (RFT), Breakdown Assistance, Unlimited Milage, airport chargres.

Generally local offices of big chains offer good deals and good service. But some less known care rental firm are also good to deal with.
